General Questions:
Why competition? What does this mean for our community?
While training parkour and freerunning, we are constantly looking for new and exciting challenges to help us progress both within our discipline and our lives. Us Honest Parkour guys believe that competition is a fun and natural challenge that can hugely benefit your resolve to progress both physically and mentally. Through organised competition we would love to recognise and reward those among us who excel in our practice. We also believe that competitions have the potential to include others; those who otherwise would not find much stimulation and drive within "normal" training.
We understand the potential negative impact that competition can have on traditional values within parkour, however we believe that with the correct intention and appropriate execution of a competition we can greatly benefit the community. Honest Parkour and Jamzac are not here to name "champions", but to provide a source of fun and growth for practitioners - and in all honesty, it is just another excuse to bring our friends together to practice the sport we love.
Health and safety at the event?
Honest Parkour, Flow Academy of Motion and Jamzac organisers will take all practical measures to ensure the safety of all at the event and will identify any hazards or areas of risk. Participants are also responsible for their own safety and should only attempt movements within their ability. Participants should acknowledge that parkour and freerunning are naturally risk-taking activities and can result in minor injuries (abrasions, bruises). In the case of an incident, staff trained in first aid will be on hand to assist and the participant's emergency contacts will be contacted as soon as possible.
Why do I have to pay to compete or spectate?
Jamzac is a not-for-profit event, existing only to bring the parkour and freerunning community together to enjoy the sport we love. We will need the help of the community to raise funds to rent the facility and provide prizes for winners of the event.

Why are their divisions between gender and age?
Exclusion is not the way we like to do things here at Honest Parkour. However sometimes we have to face reality, and on some occasions separating groups is the way to help recognise everyone's achievements the best we can.
We are passionate about having males, females and youth participate together in the challenges throughout the competition - and this is what we will do. However scoring will be separated.
In terms of age, it is obvious that in most instances a persons height and muscular development can either benefit or hinder performance greatly and thus we have chosen to judge youth in a separate division.
We also have to acknowledge that at this time, far more males practice parkour and freerunning than females and that there is also a noticeable difference in average skill level between these two genders. For this reason, we score a males' division and a females' division separately.
Are there prizes?
Yes! In each category we will have a champion male, female and youth and for style there will also be a "best trick" prize for both adults and youth. Flow Academy of Motion, Aura Freerun and Concrete Culture are kindly donating their amazing products to the prize draw.
