Competition format and structure
The competition will be held over the full two days of the event and will consist of qualifiers (open entry), heats (top 16 athletes from qualifiers) and finals (top 8 athletes from heats) in three different categories. These categories cater for three general methods of training in parkour and freerunning; speed, skill and style! Athletes can choose to compete in up to three of the categories, according to which they enjoy more!
Tip: As well as speed - training creativity, precision and agility within runs will help a lot in this one!
Tip: Your fundamentals are very important! Train your vaults, laches, strides, tacs and cats and of course stick your landings!
Tip: The best runs have one or two difficult movements, tied into a seamless flow of creative movement. Showmanship can also go a long way for the overall impression!
All adult athletes will compete together and all youth will compete together. Prizes will be awarded to the top adult male(-identifying), top adult female(-identifying), and top youth (age 10-16) athlete for each competition category.
