Named “blueper spot” both for the colour of its walls and for the fact that Matt broke his hand here, this a spot that is definitely worth a visit. With solid, linear obstacles and architecture that is rarely seen elsewhere in Auckland, everyone will be sure to find some value in training here. Accessibility: 8/10 Easily found and accessed. From Aotea you can head up Wakefield St (opposite the square) until you reach Symonds. Turn right and soon enough BOOM, there it is. During working hours there will be too much vehicular and foot traffic to train, but after hours the place is deserted and perfect for jumping. Location: 6/10 Quite a large spot with lots of room for everyone to train without getting in each other’s way. Plants and coloured concrete add some aesthetic quality to the area. Obstacles: 7.5/10 The obstacles here are really only two sets of walls, however they provide great opportunities to train vaults, strides, precision landings and cat leaps. A variation in heights between walls allows you to train to your level. There are a couple of large, clear sections for trickers who are comfortable with concrete to use. Overall: 7/10 It probably is not a spot you will spend too long at, however its size and the fact that it caters for all parkour practitioners makes it a sick place to stop at during your Symonds Street tour.
